Neurable said it will license its AI brain-sensing technology to consumer wearable makers worldwide, aiming to push brain-computer interface products into everyday hardware such as headphones, hats, glasses, and headbands. The company is taking a different path from Neuralink, which relies on implanted chips. Neurable focuses on a non-invasive design built around EEG sensors, allowing users to wear a device that reads brain activity and analyzes signals tied to focus and fatigue.
EEG wearables instead of surgical implants
Neurable’s system combines EEG sensing with signal processing, then uses AI to analyze brain activity in real time. The company describes the offering as “mind-reading” technology, though the uses detailed in the report center on cognitive indicators such as attention and fatigue rather than broader claims about decoding thought.
That creates a sharp contrast with Elon Musk’s Neuralink. Neuralink uses an invasive approach that requires surgery to place a chip inside the skull, while Neurable is trying to lower the barrier to use by building around wearable devices that do not require any procedure.
$35 million Series A backs a larger licensing push
Neurable raised $35 million in a Series A round in December last year, and the company is now using that capital to scale its commercial expansion. Through its licensing platform, original equipment manufacturers can integrate Neurable’s AI-driven brain-sensing stack into hardware they already produce.
According to the company, partner brands can keep full control over product design, user experience, and distribution channels while embedding the technology. That makes the licensing model central to Neurable’s growth plan: it supplies the sensing and analysis layer, while hardware partners keep ownership of the finished product experience.
HyperX and iMotions are already on the partner list
Neurable says the technology has already appeared in commercial collaborations. The company previously worked with HyperX, HP’s gaming brand, on a headset designed for players, with the product pitched around improving gaming performance by optimizing user focus.
It has also partnered with iMotions, a software platform used in human behavior research, to support scientific work. Those two examples show Neurable operating across both consumer electronics and research environments, rather than limiting the platform to one market segment.
CEO wants brain sensing to become as common as heart-rate tracking
CEO Ramses Alcaide said neurotechnology has reached a historic inflection point, with a scalable business model now in place. He said the company had been selective with partners in the past because it needed to prove that specific commercial uses had value. In his view, that proof has now been established.
Alcaide framed the next step in simple terms: making brain sensing as widespread as heart-rate monitoring on a smartwatch or wrist wearable. That helps explain why Neurable is leaning into licensing now, using established device brands to move faster into the broader consumer market.
Privacy remains central as brain data moves into consumer devices
The privacy issue is hard to separate from the product strategy because brain activity data is more sensitive than ordinary wellness metrics. Alcaide said Neurable follows HIPAA standards, and that user brainwave data is protected with encryption and anonymization.
On whether user neural data could be used to train the company’s AI software, Neurable’s position is that this would require explicit user consent. Alcaide said the company does not collect data at will for model training and instead asks for permission in connection with specific experimental purposes. As Neurable opens the platform to more brands, that question of consent and data boundaries is likely to stay at the center of its consumer rollout.
