According to the latest data from CryptoSlam, non-fungible token (NFT) sales totaled $187.89 million in the week ending January 26, 2025, marking a 3.88% increase from the previous week. While the overall market posted modest gains, performance varied significantly across blockchain networks, with Ethereum solidifying its dominance as Bitcoin and Solana saw declines.

Ethereum Leads, Immutable Shines

Ethereum-based NFT sales reached $106.72 million, accounting for 56.8% of the total market share, representing a weekly increase of 9.39%. In contrast, Bitcoin's NFT sales totaled $25.35 million, down 9.43% week-over-week. Solana ranked third with $16.92 million, a decline of 3.18%. The standout performer among the top five blockchains was Immutable X, which surged 26.97% to reach $7.73 million in sales, driven by growing interest in gaming and metaverse-related NFTs.

Collection Highlights: Azuki Dominates, Mad Lads Explodes

Among NFT collections, Azuki took the top spot with $26.88 million in weekly sales, up 51.19% from the prior week. Pudgy Penguins followed with $13.33 million, rising 36.57%, while Azuki Elementals came in third with $8.32 million, up 11.64%. The biggest percentage gainer among top collections was Solana's Mad Lads, which skyrocketed 132.07% to post $4.25 million in sales, reflecting renewed interest in Solana-native digital art.

High-Value Sales and Market Dynamics

The most expensive NFT sold this week was CryptoPunk #6472, which changed hands for $740,180 approximately five days ago. A Kreating Colourblind NFT from the Cardano network sold for $392,235 three days ago, and a Solana Boogle #007 fetched $369,876 two days ago. Buyer activity surged 59.34% week-over-week, while the number of sellers increased 43.67%. However, the total number of NFT transactions fell 6.37% to 1,416,984, indicating a shift toward higher-value, more selective trading rather than frequent small-ticket transactions.

This week's data paints a picture of a market in transition: rising participant numbers but lower transaction counts suggest that collectors are focusing on quality assets. Ethereum's resilience, coupled with the rise of Immutable and Mad Lads, points to capital flowing toward established and emerging ecosystems alike. Analysts believe this could signal the NFT market's maturation, moving away from speculative frenzy toward sustainable value discovery.
