Belgian digital asset security firm NGRAVE has completed a strategic restructuring, acquiring new investment from a consortium led by the Lydian Group. The company, known for its cold wallet solutions featuring the world's only EAL7-certified security design, now aims to grow the value of assets secured on its platforms from approximately $1.5 billion to $10 billion over 2026–2027.

Restructuring Details and Investor Profile

According to the official press release, the Lydian Group — founded by the creators of Mangrove Capital — is one of the largest conglomerates in the industry, active in media, infrastructure, and trading, serving over 20 million monthly customers and processing more than $50 billion in annual transactions. The group acquired NGRAVE's core assets while fully preserving the company's proprietary technology stack, including custom firmware, operating system, cryptographic stack, and the GRAPHENE backup solution — all field-tested with a zero security incident track record.

Founder Returns as CEO

NGRAVE co-founder Ruben Merre will return as CEO, having originally driven the company's vision, patented technology development, and wallet sales that have already secured $1.5 billion worth of crypto assets. “This new chapter will allow us to double down on self-custody,” Merre said. “Our goal is to make institutional-grade security accessible to every crypto holder.” Board Chairman Quentin Grutman added: “Security, long-term value creation, and institutional credibility remain at the core of our strategy and engagement.”

Product & Market Position

NGRAVE is headquartered in Belgium and focuses on advanced self-custody solutions for individuals and institutions. Its product line includes hardware wallets, backup systems, and companion software designed for the evolving crypto landscape. With an EAL7 security rating, NGRAVE stands out in the cold wallet market. The restructuring enables the company to retain existing partnerships with industrial, technological, and institutional players while leveraging the Lydian Group's extensive distribution network and customer base.

Industry observers note that as total crypto market capitalization surpasses trillions of dollars, self-custody awareness is surging. NGRAVE's ambition to scale from $1.5 billion to $10 billion in secured assets signals a shift from niche specialized tools to mainstream infrastructure. The firm aims to achieve its first growth milestones by end of 2026 and reach the $10 billion target by 2027, with zero security compromises reported to date.
