Nearly one million investors who purchased the TRUMP memecoin had recorded combined losses of $3.81 billion by the end of June 2026, according to a Nansen analysis cited by The New York Times. The report tracked 988,905 wallets that bought the token, representing roughly two-thirds of all buyers.
TRUMP Token Crashes 97%, Retail Absorbs Losses
The memecoin currently trades at $1.76, down 97% from its all-time high of $75.35. Nansen found just under 500,000 wallets generated roughly $4 billion in combined profits, but those gains were concentrated among early and sophisticated traders. The broader retail market absorbed most of the realized and unrealized losses.
Trump Collected $1.4B+ from Token and WLF
President Donald Trump’s 2025 financial disclosure revealed a $636 million payout from the TRUMP memecoin and $799 million in profit from World Liberty Financial. The NYT reported that Trump earned transaction-related income regardless of the token’s market price, and promoted it via his Truth Social account.
WLFI Token Also Deep in Red
Separately, Nansen data showed 85% of the 26,663 tracked WLFI wallets recorded losses totaling $83 million. White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly dismissed criticism, stating Trump acted in the best interests of the American people. WLF spokesman David Wachsman blamed broader market conditions. The TRUMP memecoin site described the token as an expression of support, not an investment.
