RootData’s August review of OKX Boost showed the platform launched nine campaigns during the month, drawing about 74,000 cumulative participations and distributing a total prize pool of $2.02 million, up slightly from $1.908 million in July. The report highlighted the debut of X Liquidity, a new format focused on DeFi staking and liquidity incentives on X Layer. Its first round offered $300,000, and the first two rounds together distributed more than $500,000. Over the same period, DefiLlama data cited in the report showed X Layer’s total value locked rising from $100 million in July to $200 million. RootData also pointed to continued growth in X Layer RWA activity, with OKX Wallet saying on Aug. 20 that daily active trading addresses for X Layer RWA had reached a record high. By sector, AI remained the dominant theme in August, accounting for 60% of project activities, while KiiChain, GRVT and DappOS stood out in RootData’s transparency rankings.

RootData’s August review said OKX Boost kept up its pace of listing and promoting new projects even as the broader market remained weak. The platform, positioned as an entry point for liquidity-focused opportunities on the main OKX exchange, continued to run campaigns across X Launch, X Stake, X Trade and the newly introduced X Liquidity.

Nine campaigns launched in August with a $2.02 million prize pool

According to data compiled from official OKX Boost figures, the platform launched nine campaigns in August 2026. Total participation reached about 74,000 entries, while the combined reward pool came to $2.02 million. That was slightly above July’s $1.908 million.

The August lineup covered several formats, including X Launch, X Stake, X Trade and X Liquidity. In RootData’s reading, the increase suggested OKX Boost was still putting more incentives behind selected projects despite soft market conditions.

X Liquidity goes live as X Layer TVL rises from $100 million to $200 million

The biggest product change in August was the launch of X Liquidity. The format focuses on DeFi staking and liquidity incentives on X Layer. Its first campaign went live in August, and by the time of publication, a second round had already been launched.

The first X Liquidity campaign distributed $300,000. Across the first two rounds, rewards exceeded $500,000. DefiLlama data cited in the report showed X Layer’s total value locked climbing from $100 million in July to $200 million, a doubling over the period. RootData said X Liquidity was beginning to show results in improving liquidity across the X Layer ecosystem.

Activity around X Layer RWA also continued to build. On Aug. 20, OKX Wallet said daily active trading addresses for X Layer RWA had kept rising and reached a record high. The report presented that milestone alongside the ongoing incentive effect of the X Layer RWA trading competition.

AI projects accounted for $1.11 million, or about 71% of the X Launch and X Trade pool

By reward allocation, AI remained the main focus in August. AIW3 led the month with a $400,000 prize pool, while two DappOS campaigns together offered $650,000. Combined, AIW3, AEON and DappOS accounted for $1.11 million in rewards, equal to about 71% of the $1.57 million total prize pool across X Launch and X Trade.

KiiChain, an RWA project, also offered a sizable $350,000 incentive pool. RootData described AI and RWA as the two themes that continued to attract capital allocation during the month.

On participation, AIW3 drew 14,000 addresses, ranking first among X Launch campaigns. Looking at individual projects, GRVT led overall with 26,000 participating addresses, followed by AIW3 and KiiChain. The report noted that while AI projects outnumbered others, DeFi and RWA projects showed stronger participation on a per-project basis.

Three projects ranked above 86% of projects on transparency, with KiiChain at grade A

Transparency remained another key metric in RootData’s monthly tracking. In August, three projects scored better than 86% of projects on the platform, representing more than 60% of the projects covered in the month’s activities.

KiiChain received an A rating for outstanding transparency, outperforming 99% of projects on the platform and placing in the top 1%. That matched the highest transparency record set by Irys in June. GRVT received a B rating for high transparency, outperforming 96% of projects and placing in the top 4%. DappOS also received a B rating, outperforming 86% of projects and placing in the top 14%.

RootData said these higher-rated projects span emerging-market financial infrastructure, on-chain wealth management and AI applications. It added that they showed balanced performance across basic project information, operating business, financial performance and disclosure activity, with key details such as project progress, funding background, tokenomics and unlock schedules disclosed in full.

Compared with previous months, August again produced an A-rated project. RootData said KiiChain’s score, better than 99% of projects on the platform, matched Irys’ June record and showed that OKX Boost had maintained a strict filter on project disclosure standards.

AI made up 60% of August project activities, while RWA and DeFi each took 20%

By sector distribution, AI-related projects accounted for three of the month’s project activities, or 60%. DeFi and RWA each had one project, or 20% apiece. RootData said AI and RWA remained the main themes.

The report grouped the projects into three buckets. One included AI infrastructure and applications with execution and settlement capabilities, such as AIW3, AEON and DappOS. Another covered RWA projects tied to real financial use cases in emerging markets, such as KiiChain. The third included on-chain wealth management DeFi projects capable of retaining capital and trading volume, such as GRVT.

In RootData’s assessment, Boost has shown a preference for projects with clear revenue scenarios, verifiable business progress and stronger transparency, rather than simply following concept-driven narratives.

Three takeaways from the August review

RootData closed the report with three main observations. First, X Liquidity added a new format centered on DeFi staking and liquidity incentives on X Layer. The first two rounds distributed $500,000 in total, while X Layer TVL rose from $100 million in July to $200 million.

Second, AI and RWA continued to deepen as the two main tracks. AI projects made up more than half of the total and covered the execution, application and settlement layers. RWA, meanwhile, extended toward financial infrastructure in emerging markets.

Third, project transparency stayed at a relatively high level. KiiChain received an A rating for outstanding transparency, outperforming 99% of projects and matching the best record seen in June.

RootData said that as OKX Boost continues to build around X Launch, X Trade and X Liquidity, the platform serves both as a window for users seeking early-stage projects and as a reference point for tracking capital flows, narratives and liquidity shifts in the Web3 primary market.
