OnlyFans has confirmed that Leonid Radvinsky, the platform’s majority owner and a Ukrainian-born American entrepreneur, died of cancer on March 20 at the age of 43. In a statement released on the 23rd, the company said he passed away peacefully after a long battle with illness, while his family asked for privacy.
2018 acquisition reshaped the company’s trajectory
Radvinsky was born in Odesa, a port city in Ukraine, and moved to Chicago during childhood. In 2018, he acquired most of the shares of Fenix International Ltd., the parent company of OnlyFans, from founder Tim Stokely. At that point the platform was still in an early stage. Under his ownership, and with the acceleration in online creator activity during the COVID-19 period, OnlyFans grew into a global subscription platform with broad commercial reach.
During his time in control, the company expanded a model that let creators charge fans directly through subscriptions and tips, while OnlyFans took a 20% cut. That structure changed how revenue flowed across adult content and the wider creator economy. The source material says his fortune was estimated at more than $4.7 billion in 2026.
Charitable giving and trust planning came before his death
Radvinsky kept a low public profile despite controlling one of the world’s largest adult subscription platforms. According to the company statement, he supported several charitable causes, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, open-source software initiatives, and animal welfare groups. After the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022, he also donated substantial funds to Ukrainian relief efforts.
Questions about ownership and succession had already surfaced in 2024. The report says he transferred company ownership into a trust that year, a move aimed at keeping operations stable in the event of major changes. Earlier this year, there were also reports that the company was considering the sale of a majority stake to Architect Capital, with a possible valuation of $5.5 billion.
