Paper Ventures, a newly launched venture capital firm focused on early-stage Web3 and blockchain startups, has unveiled an initial fund of $25 million. The firm said the capital will be directed toward promising blockchain and Web3 projects at an early stage, with a strategy that goes beyond financing to include active support for portfolio companies.
Backed by a mix of traditional and crypto-native capital
According to the announcement, the fund was raised from a broad base of investors, including traditional hedge funds, family offices, exchanges, founders, and high-net-worth crypto OGs. That investor mix suggests continued interest in Web3 infrastructure and blockchain innovation from both conventional finance and long-time digital asset participants.
Founders highlight experience and project support
Paper Ventures was founded by Danish Chaudhry, Oliver Blakey, and Ivailo Jordanov, who are described as experienced Web3 investors. The firm said it aims not only to write checks, but also to help nurture standout projects by offering network access, industry insight, and strategic guidance.
The founders have previously helped secure early funding for several notable crypto projects, including Frax Finance, SEI, Polygon, Injective, Polkadot, Moonbeam, and Cosmos. That track record may strengthen Paper Ventures’ appeal to founders looking for investors with both capital and ecosystem reach.
Focus on innovation at the edge of tech and finance
Commenting on the launch, co-founder Oliver Blakey said the firm wants to operate at the forefront of innovation and support ideas that can reshape the boundaries of technology and finance. Co-founder Danish Chaudhry added that the team is eager to back not only breakthrough ideas, but also the builders behind them.
With an initial fund size of $25 million, Paper Ventures enters the market as another specialist investor targeting the early-stage Web3 and blockchain segment. Its emphasis on hands-on development support, alongside capital deployment, could become a key differentiator in competing for high-potential startups.
