Paysafe has rolled out “Pay with Crypto”, a new payment solution for the regulated U.S. iGaming market. Players can fund accounts using digital assets that are instantly converted into U.S. dollars at checkout, while operators receive settlements in fiat currency—eliminating exposure to crypto price swings.
The product is powered by MoonPay and currently supports multiple cryptocurrencies, including USD Coin (USDC). Users complete transactions through direct wallet connections or QR-based checkout flows. MoonPay handles wallet interaction, compliance checks, and settlement. Operators gain an additional payment option without altering existing treasury or payment infrastructure.
Real-Time Conversion Eliminates Volatility Risk
The core mechanism is real-time conversion. Players deposit crypto, but credits appear in dollars. Operators never hold digital assets or modify treasury processes. This removes a longstanding barrier in regulated iGaming markets, where volatility and compliance concerns had restricted direct crypto usage. By embedding conversion at the payment layer, Paysafe eliminates the need for extra custody, reduces operational complexity, and stays aligned with regulatory requirements.
Transactions execute within the gaming interface, with MoonPay managing wallet interaction, compliance checks, and settlement in minutes. The seamless flow keeps the player inside the platform and the operator comfortable with fiat-only books.
Regulatory Tailwinds and Market Context
The launch arrives amid U.S. policy efforts to integrate digital assets into traditional finance. Proposed legislation like the GENIUS Act aims to create a stablecoin regulatory framework, while the Clarity Act remains under debate for broader crypto market oversight. These moves signal a maturing environment for crypto-linked payment services.
Market conditions are also improving. Binance.US has resumed parts of its operations after regulatory and banking constraints, reflecting better prospects for crypto payment services in the U.S.
Zak Cutler, President of Global Gaming at Paysafe, said cryptocurrency is “evolving in the U.S. from an investment asset into a unit of value for payments.” He noted the new product positions operators for shifting user payment preferences. Paysafe’s rollout aligns with a broader industry trend: embedding crypto payment capabilities into established financial infrastructure, especially in sectors like online gaming where transaction speed and settlement certainty are paramount.
