Pharos Network has officially launched the AtlanticOcean testnet, marking a significant milestone in the development of the fastest EVM Layer 1 blockchain tailored for cross-border tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). The testnet introduces critical upgrades including hybrid parallel execution, a 1 billion PHAR token supply, and a modular architecture.
Key Upgrades: Hybrid Parallel Execution and Modular Architecture
The standout feature of AtlanticOcean is its hybrid parallel execution engine, which allows the network to process multiple transactions concurrently while maintaining full EVM compatibility. Paired with a modular architecture that separates execution, consensus, and data availability layers, the network achieves greater flexibility for future scaling and customization. The testnet has already demonstrated 0.5-second block times, validating its low-latency performance.
These enhancements build on previous achievements with PoS tokenomics, ensuring security and decentralization from day one.
Tokenomics and RWA Ecosystem Focus
The testnet introduces 1 billion PHAR tokens to incentivize validators, developers, and early adopters. PHAR will serve as the native gas token, staking asset, and governance token. Pharos Network is targeting the rapidly growing RWA market by enabling fast, low-cost tokenization of assets such as U.S. Treasuries, commodities, and security tokens—especially for cross-border use cases.
Mainnet is tentatively scheduled for Q1 2026. The team plans to deliver a full suite of developer tools and cross-chain bridges to attract asset issuers and DeFi protocols.
