Pi Network's mainnet is set to upgrade to Protocol 22 on April 27. According to the official announcement on X, every node operator must complete the migration to version 22.1 by the deadline. Nodes that skip the step may lose connection. The upgrade is expected to cause less than 15 minutes of downtime.
Upgrade Timeline and Node Requirements
The migration path is strictly sequential: nodes must move from the current version 21.2 through versions 22.1, 23.0, 24.1, 25.1, and finally 26.0. The team warns operators not to jump ahead of v21.2 yet, as subsequent versions are still being prepared. After April 27, the schedule remains packed: May 11 for v23.0, May 25 for v24.1, June 8 for v25.1, and June 22 for v26.0. Operators are advised to upgrade nodes in batches and shift traffic to other nodes during the process.
Price Reaction and Technical Levels
The upgrade news lifted short-term attention around PI. At the time of writing, the token traded at $0.1808, up 5.34% on the day, with a market cap of $1.83 billion. On the chart, support sits near $0.17. A break above $0.175 opened room for $0.185 to $0.20. If price slips below $0.175, the next supports are $0.16, $0.15, and then $0.13. The market's direction hinges on execution quality — a clean upgrade can strengthen confidence, while missteps could hurt short-term bids.
