Supply and Holder Overview
As of June 26, 2026, on-chain data from @defioasis indicates that the total supply of Polymarket's native stablecoin pUSD has broken through the $500 million mark, with the number of unique holders surpassing 1 million. pUSD represents the cash flow balance held by users on the Polymarket prediction platform, essentially reflecting the funds available to place bets or as idle cash.
Extreme Wealth Concentration
Despite the large holder base, the distribution of pUSD is extremely uneven. Specifically, only 567 addresses (0.06% of all holders) own more than 100,000 pUSD each, collectively controlling 55.34% of the total pUSD supply. Addresses holding over 1,000 pUSD account for just 2.76% of holders but command 90.34% of the supply. In stark contrast, more than half of the holders (51.96%) hold fewer than 10 pUSD, amounting to a mere 0.19% of the total supply.
While some users may have most of their funds tied up in active trading positions (thus showing low pUSD balances), the data strongly suggests a pronounced wealth gap among participants. The phenomenon mirrors broader crypto market trends where a small cohort of large holders (whales) dominate the asset distribution. This concentration raises questions about market resilience and the potential for manipulation in prediction markets, though Polymarket remains one of the most popular platforms in the sector.
