PONS is now one of the most discussed tokens in crypto. It is the native asset of the Pons app on Robinhood Chain and, by Decrypt’s description, the strongest-performing token on the network so far.
Pons is the biggest meme coin factory on Robinhood Chain. The launchpad lets users create tokens built around jokes or internet trends rather than any actual product. For traders familiar with Pump.fun on Solana, the setup is easy to recognize.
PONS has posted one of the chain’s fastest climbs
As of September 3, PONS was trading at $0.5978 in its Uniswap pool, up 31.82% over 24 hours, with a market capitalization above $430 million. Decrypt wrote that a $1,000 purchase on July 17, when the token bottomed near $0.0033, would be worth about $181,000 now.
PONS began trading around July 15 at a fraction of a cent. Two days later it hit its low, then rallied to $0.066 by July 27 as Pons became the busiest launchpad on the chain.
That first run faded once competition intensified. In early August, Uniswap, already the default exchange on Robinhood Chain, launched its own launchpad, Pools.trade, with zero fees and quickly captured half of all launchpad volume. The move pushed PONS down to about $0.016.
The token turned higher again in the second half of August, rising from around $0.03 to a new high near $0.49 by the start of September. On September 3, it extended that move again.
How the Pons platform works
Pons works like a vending machine for new cryptocurrencies. A user picks a name, a ticker and an image, and the platform deploys a token with a fixed 1 billion supply straight into a trading pool. There is no code to write, no team allocation and no waiting period.
The platform does not take custody of user funds. Every launch and every trade runs through the creator’s own wallet.
Pons operates only on Robinhood Chain, the blockchain network Robinhood launched on July 1. It is a layer-2 network, which means it processes transactions on its own faster and lower-cost rail before settling the result back to Ethereum. Robinhood built the chain for tokenized stocks and DeFi applications, but meme coins have driven most of the early traffic.
On Robinhood Chain, Pons has taken the same role that Pump.fun holds on Solana: the default venue where traders go to launch and speculate on new tokens. Pons went live within days of the Robinhood Chain mainnet launch. After an early rival called Noxa abruptly stopped accepting new launches on July 11, much of that activity shifted to Pons.
Buyback-and-burn mechanics are central to the story
Decrypt said the rebound was not explained only by Robinhood Chain hype or the burst of trading activity. Tokenomics also played a major role. About 80% of Pons revenue goes into an automatic buyback-and-burn program. The platform uses trading fees to buy PONS on the open market and permanently destroy the tokens, reducing supply.
According to the article, roughly 29% of the original 1 billion PONS supply has already been burned. That equals about 288 million tokens, leaving an effective supply near 712 million.
PONS overtook CashCat as the chain’s largest token
During the rally, PONS overtook CashCat to become the largest token on Robinhood Chain by market capitalization. CashCat is described as the chain’s flagship meme coin and takes its name from the discarded “CashCat” brand that Robinhood founders Vlad Tenev and Baiju Bhatt once considered before naming the company.
Tenev has also acknowledged the ecosystem. Speaking to podcaster Graham Stephan on the Iced Coffee Hour, he said that on Robinhood Chain, “if you hold a meme coin, you just get stock tokens airdropped to you.”
Binance Alpha listing and fee growth added momentum
Binance Wallet added PONS to its Alpha trading tier on September 2, and the token moved to fresh highs the following day.
In a post quoted in the article, Binance Wallet wrote: “Pons (PONS) and FLORK (FLORK) were added to Binance Alpha on September 2, 2026. Pons is available on Binance Alpha 1.0 only. Users can now trade both tokens on Binance Alpha as set out above using market and limit orders.”
Pons also posted $5.95 million in daily fees on September 3. Decrypt said that was enough to rank fourth among all crypto protocols tracked by DefiLlama and, for a time that day, to out-earn Robinhood Chain itself.
Trading venues are expanding, but valuation ranges still vary
PONS now trades in Uniswap pools on Robinhood Chain and has centralized listings on MEXC, Gate.io, KuCoin and Binance Alpha. Futures are also available on Hyperliquid, Bybit and Aster.
Market capitalization estimates still differ sharply across trackers. Decrypt cited figures ranging from $392 million on DefiLlama to $576 million on OpenSea. The gap serves as a reminder that PONS still trades with relatively thin and fast-moving on-chain liquidity.
