Building a trustless privacy layer for the internet, ANYONE routes traffic through chained VPN tunnels controlled by different participants in a decentralized network, ensuring no single entity can track user activity.
Anon SDK Upgrade: Expanding the Developer Ecosystem
A cornerstone of the roadmap is the comprehensive update to the Anon SDK, with plans to release TypeScript, NPM, Python, and mobile libraries. This will allow a wide range of developers to interface their applications directly with the Anon network without needing to interact with Anon's native-C client. The move sets the stage for a broad ecosystem of privacy-focused projects and hackathons, placing ANYONE alongside other developer-active projects like LINK and ANKR.
Protocol Evolution: Transition to AO and Testnet Incentives
The roadmap explicitly marks a “transition to AO”, revealing a previously unknown link between ANYONE and Arweave's much-touted ‘global computer’ AO. With senior developer Jim Toth, co-author of Arweave's atomic-assets standard, leading their protocol, a deeper integration with the permaweb was always anticipated, and this roadmap point is a hint at what is to come. Additionally, a new testnet will introduce reward metrics based on geolocation and uptime, aiming to attract a wider set of relay operators rather than concentrated, well-resourced ones. This bears resemblance to Helium ($HNT)'s differential rewards, and with Helium co-founder Sean Carey advising the project, further parallels are likely.

Perhaps most intriguing are the later network milestones: “Enterprise custom circuit control” and “AI circuit agents”. The former allows enterprise-level users to finely control the routing path of traffic, while the latter leverages AI to optimize onion routing efficiency. This contrasts sharply with the rigid approaches seen in other privacy protocols. Hardware Sales: Mass Router Shipment Imminent
Given the long waiting list for the first batch of ANYONE hardware routers, the roadmap's promise of mass hardware sales will meet user demand, lower the barrier for non-technical users to participate in the network, and accelerate the growth of node count. The team has swiftly worked since being removed from the Tor network in November 2023, forking Tor for every OS and releasing their own hardware device for global shipping.
