SoSoValue data shows that, as of 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Aug. 24, 2026, publicly listed companies worldwide excluding mining firms recorded $81.48 million in net Bitcoin purchases over the past week, up 1,431.6% from the previous week. Strategy did not buy or sell Bitcoin during the period, though it sold 18,261,118 shares of MSTR common stock and raised $2.007 billion. Japan-listed Metaplanet also made no Bitcoin purchases last week, extending its pause to six consecutive weeks. Two other companies disclosed Bitcoin buys: asset manager Strive said on Aug. 24 that it spent $81.48 million to acquire 1,110 BTC at $73,409 per coin, lifting its holdings to about 21,356 BTC, while Ethereum treasury company Bitmine said the same day that it bought 1 BTC and now holds 210 BTC in total. Boyaa Interactive separately disclosed on Aug. 20 that it spent $7.35 million in the second quarter of 2026 to purchase 108 BTC at about $68,047 each, bringing its holdings to 4,201 BTC as of June 30, 2026. In total, tracked public companies excluding miners held 1,140,751 BTC at press time, up 0.1% week over week, with a market value of about $89.52 billion, equal to 5.7% of Bitcoin’s circulating market capitalization.

According to SoSoValue data cited by ChainCatcher, publicly listed companies worldwide excluding mining firms recorded $81.48 million in net Bitcoin purchases last week as of 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Aug. 24, 2026. That figure was up 1,431.6% from the previous week.

Weekly corporate Bitcoin buying rose sharply

The data shows that listed companies as a group added to their Bitcoin allocations over the week, although Strategy did not buy or sell any Bitcoin during the period.

Strategy did, however, sell 18,261,118 shares of MSTR common stock and generated $2.007 billion in proceeds.

Japan-listed Metaplanet also did not purchase Bitcoin last week. The company has now gone six straight weeks without a Bitcoin purchase.

Two companies disclosed purchases during the week

Two other companies announced Bitcoin purchases last week.

Asset manager Strive said on Aug. 24 that it spent $81.48 million to buy 1,110 BTC at a price of $73,409 per coin, bringing its total holdings to about 21,356 BTC.

Ethereum asset company Bitmine said on Aug. 24 that it purchased 1 BTC. It did not disclose the amount spent. Its total holdings reached 210 BTC.

Boyaa Interactive reported second-quarter purchases

Separately, Boyaa Interactive said on Aug. 20 that it spent $7.35 million in the second quarter of 2026 to buy 108 BTC at about $68,047 per coin. As of June 30, 2026, its total holdings stood at 4,201 BTC.

Total holdings reached 1,140,751 BTC

At press time, the tracked universe of public companies excluding mining firms held a combined 1,140,751 BTC, up 0.1% from a week earlier. The current market value of those holdings was about $89.52 billion, equal to 5.7% of Bitcoin’s circulating market capitalization.
