Pump.fun co-founder and chief operating officer Alon said the team spent a long period focused on its launchpad before it began supporting cross-chain swaps about five months ago.
In a post, Alon said the team reviewed Relay, the cross-chain provider it had been using at the time, and found that more than one in nine cross-chain buys on Relay produced errors. A typical buy took close to 4 seconds to land, one in ten took more than 7 seconds, and users usually received fewer tokens than they should have. He also said social trading app FOMO still depends on Relay.
Pump Bridge opened to all Pump.fun app users
Alon said Pump Bridge, Pump.fun’s in-house cross-chain bridge, has now been rolled out to all users of Pump.fun apps. Compared with Relay, he said, buy landing speed improved by 2x, the error rate fell 92% from more than one in nine to less than 1%, users received more tokens on average for the same amount of capital, and no extra cross-chain fee is being charged for now.
He added that the theoretical fastest landing time for a buy is about 1.1 seconds because of the speed of light and confirmation times on the destination chain. The team, he said, is still working to narrow the remaining gap.
Test window and sample size
The comparison was based on randomized tests conducted in the Pump.fun mobile app from Sept. 28 to Oct. 7. The tests covered Robinhood, BSC, Base, Arc and Ink, and excluded Ethereum.
According to Alon, the test logged 416,669 transaction outcomes in total. Of those, 383,326 measured the time from click to success notification. Another 35,333 completed USDC buys under $500 were used to compare execution results.
Platform fee and rewards
Alon also said the platform fee is 0.45%, Callout rewards are at least $300,000 per day, and the two-month total is about $20 million. He said the platform does not retain the platform fee.
