RAVE surged past $27 again, with total liquidations of $20.64 million in the past 24 hours. Short positions accounted for $18.34 million (88.8% of the total), and the largest single liquidation was $161,500. At the same time, RAVE's coin-margined open interest dropped from a peak of 150 million tokens on April 11 to just 25.49 million tokens, a decline of 83%. The disconnect between soaring price and collapsing OI has raised red flags.
The rally began on April 13 when the price first broke above $10. By April 18, RAVE had hit $27, marking a 170% gain in five days and nearly 9,000% over the past week. On April 17, its market cap briefly reached $5.48 billion, up 28.7% in 24 hours. The derivatives market shows heavy pressure on bears—short liquidations accounted for nearly 90% of the total.
Extreme Low Long/Short Ratio, Shorts Squeezed
The Binance RAVE/USDT account long/short ratio stood at 0.4541, OKX at 0.58, and the large-account ratio on Binance was even lower at 0.39. This indicates that during the push above $27, short positions were continuously liquidated, driven not by strong buying but by forced covering.
Price-OI Divergence: A Bearish Structure
The most telling signal is open interest. The token-based OI tumbled from 150 million to 25.49 million tokens, a 83% drop, while the price went in the opposite direction. That's a textbook bearish divergence.
Highly Concentrated Supply Raises Suspicion
On-chain data shows that about 90% of circulating RAVE is held in just 3 related wallets, and the top 10 wallets control over 98%. Just before the pump, 18.58 million RAVE tokens were transferred to Bitget exchange. This is a classic token distribution pattern: deposit first, pump later, and then dump. With such concentrated supply, the scheme is easy to execute.
What to Watch Next
First, whether OI rebuilds around the $27 level. If it climbs back from 25.49 million, new money is entering and price support may hold. If OI keeps shrinking, the divergence deepens, making the rally increasingly reliant on short liquidations rather than genuine long demand—a fragile structure.
Second, the funding rate direction. If rates turn positive and rise quickly, it signals overheated longs and the risk of a long squeeze.
This is not investment advice. For any token with over 90% wallet concentration, sharp moves in either direction can happen fast and without warning. Stay cautious.
