The cryptocurrency market hit a fresh flashpoint on April 18, 2026, when RaveDAO (RAVE) lost over 96% of its value in under 48 hours, plunging from nearly $28 to roughly $0.50. The token's market cap crashed from $6.6 billion to around $150–$244 million, wiping out close to $6 billion in paper valuation. The trigger: blockchain investigator ZachXBT publicly accused the project of orchestrating an 11,000% rally as a coordinated pump-and-dump.
ZachXBT's Allegations and Exchange Responses
ZachXBT called out Bitget, Binance, and Gate.io as the launchpads for what he described as artificial price inflation. He offered a $10,000 bounty for whistleblowers. Within hours, Binance co-CEO Richard Teng and Bitget CEO Gracy Chen confirmed formal investigations into the trading activity. Rather than calming the market, these announcements fueled deeper panic, with investors reading the probes as confirmation of structural fraud.
“Given the supply concentration, the team at minimum knows who is responsible for this price action. I find it unlikely this activity wasn't spotted internally before I raised it publicly,” ZachXBT wrote on social media.
Supply Concentration and On-Chain Evidence
Blockchain data revealed that around 95% of RAVE's total supply was controlled by just 9 to 10 wallets. Arkham data cited by investigators showed RaveDAO-linked addresses sold roughly $23 million worth of RAVE just as the price began to slide. One suspected whale wallet held 750 million tokens—worth $10.3 billion at peak—which later collapsed to about $1.1 billion. This level of concentration made any organic recovery nearly impossible, as a single entity retained the power to cap any bounce.
RaveDAO denied involvement but failed to address specific on-chain transfers to Bitget, further eroding trust. The community saw the denial as textbook crisis management that omitted the $23 million sell-off evidence.
Technical Breakdown: Wyckoff Distribution at Hyper Speed
RAVE's price path followed an accelerated Wyckoff accumulation-to-distribution pattern. The nine-day markup phase pushed the token to $27.33, followed by a vertical markdown as liquidity evaporated. The token smashed through psychological levels at $10, $5, and $1 with almost no resistance. Current trading sits well below the 50-day and 200-day EMAs, both trending sharply downward.
A realistic technical outlook sees the $1.00–$1.20 zone as the first potential dead cat bounce level, with horizontal resistance at $1.50 likely blocking any short-term rally. If the $0.50 floor breaks, the next stop is the launch price of $0.20—a complete round trip back to zero.
ZachXBT also flagged several other tokens—SIREN, MYX, COAI, M, PIPPIN, and RIVER—as exhibiting similarly concentrated supply and suspicious price action. The broader meme coin and low-cap sectors saw a rotation into Bitcoin and Ethereum as investors fled to quality.
