Singapore-based real estate crowdfunding company REAL (Real Estate Asset Ledger) announced the launch of its token sale on August 6, 2017, enabling cryptocurrency holders to invest in global real estate assets. The project leverages Ethereum smart contracts to disrupt the traditionally inefficient and illiquid real estate sector.

Platform Overview

REAL aims to eliminate intermediaries, enhance transparency and liquidity, lower entry barriers, and alleviate tax issues in cross-border transactions. Investors can contribute any amount of cryptocurrency to purchase REAL tokens, which can be exchanged for economic rights (RPPs) tied to specific properties. Profits are distributed in Ether, and RPPs are tradable on the platform. REAL charges a 10% commission on all rental income generated.

Token Sale Details

REAL tokens are ERC-20 compliant, distributed via smart contract. The sale consists of two phases: the pre-sale begins on August 24, 2017, lasting 24 hours, exclusively for contributions over 100 ETH, with a hard cap of 100,000 ETH. The crowdsale runs from August 14, 2017 at 19:00 UTC to August 31, 2017 at 19:00 UTC (note the crowdsale start date precedes the pre-sale). The soft cap is 200,000 ETH; if reached, the sale closes within 36 hours. The hard cap is 400,000 ETH, with a total supply of 100,000,000 REAL tokens.

Team Background

The team has invested $350,000 of their own capital. CEO Enrique Dubois is a serial entrepreneur with 15+ years of experience. Co-founder Bernardo Hernández previously held senior roles at Google and Yahoo, holds a CFA charter, and co-founded Idealista. Both have successfully exited multiple startups.
