The board of the Recall Foundation has decided to begin an orderly wind-down of the entity in the near term, in a move it said was made independently of Recall Labs. Recall, a decentralized AI agent evaluation platform, launched its RECALL token in October 2025. RootData shows the project had raised about $42 million in total. According to the announcement, the board concluded that continued protocol development was not commercially viable. It also said the decision was not triggered by a hack or any other security incident. As part of the process, the foundation plans to send all RECALL tokens in its custody or control to a designated burn address. The amount expected to be destroyed is 358,562,442 RECALL, equal to 35.86% of the 1 billion total supply, which would leave an estimated post-burn supply of 641,437,558 tokens. The foundation said tokenholders will not receive any distribution, redemption, or monetary consideration. Staked RECALL is excluded from the burn, and holders must unstake and withdraw on their own. New unstaking requests will no longer be subject to the 30-day cooldown from the date of the announcement. As of Oct. 30, the foundation held about $3.7 million in assets and expects to use them for roughly $3.45 million in creditor and vendor payments, about $200,000 in liquidation costs, and around $50,000 in contingency reserves.

ChainCatcher reported that the board of the Recall Foundation has announced an orderly wind-down of the foundation in the near term. The board said the decision was made independently of Recall Labs.

RECALL launched in October 2025. Data from RootData shows Recall had raised about $42 million in cumulative funding. The board said continued development of the protocol was not commercially viable, and the announcement added that the decision was not caused by a hack or a security incident.

Token burn plan

The foundation plans to transfer all RECALL tokens in its custody or control to a designated burn address. The expected burn amount is 358,562,442 RECALL, representing 35.86% of the 1 billion total supply. After the burn, total supply is expected to fall to 641,437,558 tokens.

The foundation said holders will not receive any distribution, redemption, or monetary consideration. Staked RECALL will not be included in the burn, and holders must unstake and withdraw those tokens themselves. From the date of the announcement, new unstaking requests will no longer carry a 30-day cooldown period.

Assets and liquidation timeline

As of Oct. 30, the foundation held about $3.7 million in assets. It plans to use those funds to pay about $3.45 million owed to creditors and vendors, cover about $200,000 in liquidation costs, and reserve about $50,000 for contingencies.

The foundation said it intends to enter voluntary liquidation under Cayman law. It will stop new competitions and staking rewards on the same day, shift the official app to read-only mode on Nov. 30, and expects to complete the final liquidation and burn the remaining tokens in the first quarter of 2027.
