Revolut, the UK-based fintech giant, is rolling out a Dogecoin-themed physical debit card, letting users spend DOGE directly at any merchant that accepts Visa or Mastercard. The move marks another step by financial technology firms to fuse crypto culture with daily transactions.
Card Details and Rollout
The card will first be available in the United Kingdom and the European Union, excluding Hungary, Switzerland and Portugal, according to Revolut's Monday statement. The company said no additional exchange fees will be charged on purchases; however, each transaction is subject to the crypto-to-fiat exchange rate at the moment of settlement. Local tax rules may also apply, the firm cautioned.
The design features Dogecoin's iconic Shiba Inu logo, joining Revolut's existing Bitcoin and Ethereum card lineup. At the time of announcement, DOGE traded around $0.07425.
Growing Crypto Debit Card Race
Revolut's DOGE card enters a rapidly expanding landscape. Coinbase and Crypto.com have already launched similar products, offering USDC cashback or multi-token support. The industry is shifting focus from pure trading and speculation to real-world spending, aiming to connect digital wallets with traditional point-of-sale systems. By choosing Dogecoin — a token with a massive retail following but limited on-chain usage — Revolut bets on meme coin liquidity to drive adoption.
Users do not need to pre-convert DOGE into fiat. The card automatically deducts the equivalent amount from the user's DOGE balance at the spot rate and settles with the merchant in local currency. If DOGE balance is insufficient, the system draws from other supported crypto or fiat accounts.
Revolut's Banking-Crypto Convergence
This card also reflects Revolut's broader banking ambitions. In 2025, the company integrated Polygon into its app, enabling remittances, POL staking, and in-app crypto card payments. In March, it secured regulatory approval to launch a fully licensed bank in the UK, and has applied for a de novo banking license in the United States. If approved, the DOGE card could eventually reach a much larger North American user base, further blurring the line between crypto wallets and traditional bank accounts.
