Ripple has expanded its institutional derivatives offering by integrating the full suite of Coinbase Derivatives contracts into Ripple Prime, giving clients access to regulated futures cleared by Nodal Clear. The move broadens institutional access to compliant crypto futures markets and strengthens Ripple’s position in prime brokerage and clearing infrastructure.

Prime brokerage platform extends regulated market access

The expanded access comes after Ripple became a clearing member of Nodal Clear, with trading routed through the Ripple Prime platform. Ripple Prime President Noel Kimmel said the partnership with Nodal Clear and Coinbase will help the firm extend exchange coverage and create new futures trading opportunities for clients. He added that bringing the full Coinbase Derivatives lineup into Ripple Prime’s clearing framework reflects the company’s effort to improve market access and execution efficiency for institutions globally.

The arrangement is enabled through Hidden Road Partners CIV US LLC, the futures commission merchant acquired by Ripple last year and now operating as Ripple Prime. The platform offers multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services. According to the announcement, it cleared more than $3 trillion in 2025, underscoring its growing role in institutional trading infrastructure.

Available contracts include BTC, ETH, SOL, and XRP futures

Coinbase Derivatives offers traditional futures linked to cryptocurrencies and commodities, as well as U.S. perpetual-style futures. Under the new setup, Ripple Prime clients can access products including nano bitcoin (BIT), nano ethereum (ET), and both institutional-sized and nano contracts tied to solana (SOL) and XRP.

Boris Ilyevsky, head of the U.S. futures exchange at Coinbase, said the collaboration comes as demand for regulated crypto futures continues to increase. He said the partnership supports Coinbase’s commitment to providing deep liquidity, innovative contract design, and 24/7 trading to a broader range of participants within a secure, CFTC-regulated framework.

Institutional momentum continues to favor regulated infrastructure

Nodal Clear, a derivatives clearing organization regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, clears transactions for both Nodal Exchange and Coinbase Derivatives Exchange. Chairman and CEO Paul Cusenza said Ripple’s addition as a clearing member will help its clients access the full Coinbase Derivatives product suite more efficiently and diversify trading opportunities available through Nodal Clear’s services.

The development reflects a broader institutional trend in digital assets. Regulated crypto futures are attracting more professional demand because they offer standardized contracts, clearer oversight, dependable clearing, and stronger liquidity. Ripple Prime’s latest expansion therefore signals more than a product update—it points to continued maturation in the market structure supporting institutional crypto trading.
