Ripple has deepened its partnership with Latin American fintech Bitso by launching MXNB, a Mexican peso-backed stablecoin, on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). According to a June 11 press release, the stablecoin is now integrated into Ripple's enterprise payment network and its decentralized exchange (DEX) infrastructure, joining Ripple USD (RLUSD) as a regulated settlement asset.
MXNB Debuts on XRPL Permissioned DEX for U.S.-Mexico Corridor
MXNB operates on the XRPL Permissioned DEX, a trading environment designed for verified participants. Ripple stated the integration allows approved counterparties to access on-chain liquidity and settlement in a compliance-focused setting. Combined with RLUSD, MXNB targets enterprise cross-border payment flows between the United States and Mexico, leveraging blockchain-based settlement. Silvio Pegado, Ripple's managing director for Latin America, commented: "By bringing together RLUSD and MXNB on the XRPL Permissioned DEX, we're helping create regulated, onchain liquidity infrastructure purpose-built for enterprise cross-border payments." He added the infrastructure marks the next stage in how value moves between U.S. dollars and Mexican pesos.
XRPL Validator Welcomes Move; Ecosystem Expands to AI and Payments
XRPL validator Vet welcomed MXNB's arrival on social media, noting it will trade alongside RLUSD on the network. The launch coincides with Ripple's ongoing additions to XRPL, including tokenization and AI-related functions. Earlier this week, Ripple introduced an AI Starter Kit for building agent-based payment apps, and XRPL now supports the X402 protocol, enabling AI agents to transact using XRP and RLUSD. Separately, Mastercard recently launched Agent Pay for Machines, a network backed by over 30 organizations including Ripple, Coinbase, and the Solana Foundation. Mastercard said the platform allows autonomous software agents to conduct payments, settlements, and machine-to-machine transactions under user-defined limits, with stablecoin settlement rails. crypto.news previously reported that Mastercard implemented 24/7 settlement using RLUSD on XRPL, adding another enterprise use case as blockchain payment adoption grows.
