Ripple said Redotpay has integrated Ripple Payments to expand its stablecoin payout network and launch a new “Send Crypto, Receive NGN” service. The feature allows users to send XRP or stablecoins and have funds delivered in Nigerian naira (NGN) directly to local bank accounts, extending faster digital-asset settlement to users in emerging markets.
NGN payouts added to Redotpay network
According to the announcement, the service is available to verified Redotpay users with a local bank account. Ripple said the rollout streamlines conversion from digital assets into NGN, enabling quicker and more affordable payouts. Redotpay co-founder and CEO Michael Gao said the company is building stablecoin-powered payments that make digital assets as easy to use as local currency, allowing users to send XRP or stablecoins securely and receive NGN within minutes.
The payout feature currently supports a broad list of assets, including USDC, USDT, BTC, ETH, SOL, TON, S, TRX, XRP, and BNB. Ripple also said support for RLUSD will be added later. In a typical transaction, a user sends XRP or another supported asset through Redotpay, and NGN is then transferred to the designated local bank account.
Targeting remittance inefficiencies
The launch comes against a backdrop of persistent friction in global remittance channels, where fees remain elevated and settlement can still take days. Compared with traditional correspondent banking rails, crypto- and stablecoin-based settlement paths are often promoted as faster, more transparent, and better suited to cross-border use cases that require quicker access to liquidity.
Redotpay’s NGN expansion builds on its earlier payout corridors for BRL and MXN. The company’s broader network is positioned to serve freelancers, digital nomads, and overseas workers who need faster access to local currency. As demand grows for practical cross-border payment tools in developing markets, the Ripple-Redotpay partnership highlights expanding real-world payment use cases for XRP and stablecoins.
