Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz has publicly dismissed the bold prediction that XRP could hit $10,000. During an online debate, he argued that the idea does not align with normal market behavior. If such a move were even remotely possible, wealthy rational investors would already be accumulating XRP aggressively, he said.
Old Comments Misinterpreted as Price Target
The debate resurfaced after a 2017 post in which Schwartz discussed XRP's liquidity needs for handling massive payment flows. Some users twisted those comments into a price forecast. Schwartz clarified that the post was about transaction capacity, not a future price promise. "It was about liquidity, market depth, and settlement size, not a price guarantee," he stressed.
No Secret Government Deals: Conspiracy Theories Dismissed
Schwartz also rejected the conspiracy theory that XRP is part of hidden government or central bank plans. Ripple's non-disclosure agreements are standard business privacy measures, not proof of secret XRP deals, he said. Regarding Ripple's escrow holdings, Schwartz noted that the on-chain data is fully transparent and traceable by anyone.
XRP Market Snapshot
XRP traded near $1.37–$1.38 with a market cap above $84 billion, according to crypto.news data. Schwartz's remarks come amid ongoing valuation debates in the crypto space.
