Ripple has expanded its office in Washington, D.C., increasing its presence in the U.S. capital as it seeks a larger role in digital asset policy discussions. The company said the bigger office will improve its ability to work with policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, and industry participants involved in shaping blockchain and digital finance rules.
Washington office set up as a policy hub
Ripple said the D.C. office will function as a central venue for discussions on market structure, stablecoins, payments modernization, and responsible blockchain innovation. The expansion comes as U.S. lawmakers continue weighing new frameworks for digital assets, and Ripple described the move as part of its ongoing investment in regulatory engagement.
Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty said Ripple has long supported working alongside policymakers instead of operating outside regulatory processes. He said the company remains focused on helping advance policies that encourage innovation while protecting consumers and maintaining trust in financial markets. Alderoty also said regulatory clarity is becoming more important for both businesses and consumers as blockchain takes on a larger role in the financial system.
Focus areas include stablecoins and market structure
According to Ripple, its Washington operations will concentrate on practical policy solutions that balance innovation, transparency, and consumer protection. The office is also expected to host meetings and engagements with government officials, regulators, industry groups, and financial institutions. Ripple said ongoing dialogue between the public and private sectors is essential as digital assets become more connected with traditional financial infrastructure.
The company added that the expanded office will also help deepen relationships with organizations involved in payment innovation and blockchain adoption. Ripple said it has spent more than a decade developing blockchain-based tools aimed at improving efficiency and transparency across global financial services, while consistently calling for clearer regulatory standards.
RLUSD grows through Türkiye rollout
Ripple’s policy push in Washington is taking place alongside international product expansion. The company recently broadened access to its U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin RLUSD in Türkiye through partnerships with BiLira, Bitexen, and Bitlo, allowing both institutions and retail users to reach the token through the three local platforms.
Ripple said the launch strengthens its position in one of the world’s largest crypto markets and expands the reach of its regulated stablecoin offering. Since launching in late 2024, RLUSD has grown to an estimated market capitalization of about $1.7 billion, according to the company, as institutional adoption continues to rise.
Digital asset bills keep moving in Washington
The report said several digital asset proposals are still moving through Washington, including measures tied to stablecoin oversight and broader market structure rules. Ripple said the United States has an opportunity to reinforce its standing in financial technology through clear and balanced digital asset regulation, and the company plans to stay involved in those policy conversations.
