Ripple has officially launched Ripple Treasury, embedding XRP and RLUSD into enterprise treasury infrastructure to streamline global liquidity, payments, and institutional capital flows at scale. The platform, powered by GTreasury—which Ripple acquired for $1 billion in late 2025—combines four decades of corporate treasury expertise with real-time digital asset capabilities.

Platform Launch and Enterprise Pain Points

GTreasury announced on X: “Today, we’re proud to introduce Ripple Treasury: the world’s first comprehensive treasury platform combining 40 years of proven enterprise expertise with cutting-edge digital asset infrastructure.” The post highlighted that many finance teams are stuck managing growing complexity with fewer resources, constrained by outdated legacy systems. Ripple Treasury processes an estimated $12.5 trillion in annual payments across clients including American Airlines and Volvo.

Roles of XRP and RLUSD

Within Ripple Treasury, XRP serves as a bridge currency for near-instant cross-border payments and on-demand liquidity, while RLUSD provides a dollar-denominated stable layer for collateralization, institutional yield, and programmable low-volatility treasury payments. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse reiterated: “XRP sits at the center of everything Ripple does. Lock in.” He noted that the acquisitions of Ripple Prime and GTreasury greatly accelerate the company’s vision of an “Internet of Value,” with XRP as the “heartbeat” of that vision.

By integrating digital asset rails into a platform that moves trillions of dollars annually, Ripple Treasury is expected to drive significant settlement volume on the XRP Ledger, increasing transaction counts and incremental fee burns. RLUSD gives large corporates a compliant stablecoin option for core treasury functions.

Acquisition and Ecosystem Growth

Ripple announced the $1 billion acquisition of GTreasury on October 16, 2025, closing on December 4. GTreasury outlined accelerated platform expansion under Ripple’s ownership, including increased engineering capacity, the Solvexia acquisition to strengthen reconciliation, and broader deployment of AI-driven analytics. Ripple’s digital asset infrastructure already serves hundreds of financial institutions across more than 75 jurisdictions, supporting cross-border payments and institutional custody around the clock.

Reece Merrick, Ripple’s Managing Director for Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, stated: “The future of treasury has no friction or boundaries.” The launch of Ripple Treasury marks a pivotal step in bringing XRP and RLUSD from theoretical utility to real-world, large-scale enterprise adoption, signaling a new era for blockchain-powered corporate finance.
