According to CoinDesk, Ripple is attempting to bring XRP and its stablecoin Ripple USD into the AI agent payments market. The effort is aimed at entering an on-chain micropayment system that is still dominated by the dollar stablecoin USD Coin. As part of this push, Ripple has released the “XRPL AI Starter Kit,” a developer-focused toolkit for building payment capabilities for AI Agents.

The toolkit is designed to let agents carry out basic fund-related operations on XRP Ledger, including making payments, checking balances and handling wallet operations. The report also states that the XRPL AI Starter Kit supports automated payment flows based on the x402 protocol, giving developers a framework for testing and building AI Agent payment functions on-chain.

However, Ripple has not disclosed any large-scale deployment customers, nor has it released real production-level transaction data for AI Agent payments. At this stage, the initiative remains in an early phase focused on infrastructure and the developer ecosystem, with the current emphasis on tools and payment integration rather than proven large-scale commercial usage.
