RLUSD has shifted into a quieter on-chain pattern in June, with token burns overtaking fresh issuance. Data in the report shows that $127.4 million worth of RLUSD was minted on June 1, while $12 million was burned the same day. In the sessions that followed, burn activity repeatedly exceeded new supply. The article’s headline states that RLUSD recorded $55.9 million in burns during June, and over the latest week, tokens removed from circulation outpaced newly minted amounts.
Early June burst gives way to softer issuance
The June trend looks much calmer than May. On-chain activity has eased, and the shift is visible in supply dynamics: issuance has lost the momentum seen at the start of the month, while burns have stayed comparatively firm. For RLUSD, that points to weaker net supply growth over the recent stretch.
That slowdown has not stopped Ripple from putting RLUSD at the center of its monthly rollout. The stablecoin remained tied to new technical integrations, payment-related announcements, and regional institutional expansion.
Wormhole opens native cross-chain transfers for RLUSD
At the start of June, RLUSD became accessible across multiple blockchain ecosystems through Wormhole’s Native Token Transfers infrastructure. The key change is that RLUSD can move natively between chains instead of relying on wrapped versions. According to the announcement, the integration is intended to support cross-border payments, institutional onramps and offramps, and tokenization use cases.
Ripple said the move could broaden access to compliant, dollar-backed liquidity for developers and institutions operating across networks, especially those building on-chain finance products. The practical effect is wider usability for RLUSD across different blockchain environments.
Mastercard support and Turkey rollout add institutional reach
Mastercard said in June that it plans to support settlement with regulated stablecoins, including Ripple’s RLUSD. Ripple described that step as a sign of rising institutional interest in digital assets. The company also said Mastercard’s RLUSD and XRP Ledger integration points to increasing demand for blockchain infrastructure and digital assets that can enable faster and more flexible settlement.
Ripple also announced that RLUSD had been rolled out to institutional clients in Turkey through partnerships with BiLira, Bitexen, and Bitlo. Those agreements expanded access to RLUSD across the country.
Istanbul Technical University joins Ripple research program
After its latest moves in Turkey, Ripple named Istanbul Technical University as a new partner in its global University Blockchain Research Initiative. The collaboration, funded by RLUSD, will back advanced research projects and postgraduate scholarship programs. The announcement also said that an XRP Ledger validator will be established on the ITU campus.
So while RLUSD issuance and burn activity has been quieter this month, the stablecoin remains closely tied to Ripple’s ongoing work in cross-chain infrastructure, payment systems, and region-specific institutional development.
