Ripple and OKX said RLUSD is now live on eligible OKX markets, launching with more than 280 spot pairs, XRP/RLUSD trading, XRPL transfers, and derivatives collateral support.

Ripple and OKX said on April 29 that RLUSD is now live across eligible OKX markets, launching with more than 280 spot pairs, including XRP/RLUSD. The rollout also adds derivatives collateral functionality and enables deposits and withdrawals through the XRP Ledger (XRPL). RLUSD has been integrated into OKX’s unified liquidity framework, allowing the stablecoin to be used across several market functions instead of being limited to a single trading venue.

Trading, collateral, and XRPL transfers all included at launch

The integration goes beyond listing a new spot pair. According to the announcement, RLUSD now sits inside OKX workflows tied to trading, margin, and settlement. The asset can be used as institutional-grade collateral for derivatives, including perpetual futures where available. Ripple said RLUSD is now available for spot trading across 280+ pairs, while XRPL-based deposits and withdrawals are active, supported by direct minting and redemption intended to keep liquidity accessible. The companies also said more RLUSD integrations across the OKX ecosystem are planned, though regional availability will differ.

Ripple separately posted on X that users can now trade more than 280 RLUSD pairs on OKX, use RLUSD as collateral, and access full XRPL deposit and withdrawal support. Since its launch in December 2024, RLUSD has grown to a market capitalization of more than $1.5 billion, and the stablecoin is already live on major global exchanges.

OKX unified order book pools stablecoin liquidity

A major feature highlighted in the rollout is OKX’s Unified Order Book. Under this model, multiple stablecoin markets share one order book instead of splitting liquidity by asset. In the earlier setup, products tied to assets such as USD, USDC, and USDG were handled in separate books, which could fragment liquidity and produce inconsistent pricing across markets.

With a unified book, orders are routed into one shared market, giving traders access to the best available price regardless of which stablecoin is being used. That removes the need for manual conversions or switching between assets. For RLUSD, the result is access to a broader liquidity pool across both spot and derivatives activity. OKX said the structure is designed to deepen liquidity, tighten spreads, improve execution efficiency, and reduce slippage.

Ripple presents RLUSD as a compliance-first stablecoin

The source describes RLUSD as a compliance-first, enterprise-grade stablecoin built for regulated finance. It is redeemable for U.S. dollars and backed by reserves that include U.S. dollar deposits, short-term U.S. Treasuries, and other cash equivalents. Jack McDonald, Ripple’s senior vice president of stablecoins, said the OKX partnership gives users more ways to deploy capital efficiently across spot and derivatives while also deepening RLUSD liquidity on one of the world’s largest trading platforms.

Availability still depends on region, and some products may remain restricted in certain markets. For eligible users, RLUSD now enters OKX as a trading asset, a collateral asset, and part of the exchange’s broader liquidity system.
