Robinhood Chain's decentralized exchange volume has surged to $3.1 billion shortly after its launch, with meme coins driving the bulk of early activity. Analysts at investment bank Bernstein reported Monday that the network's initial phase is overwhelmingly dominated by meme coin transactions, powered by strong demand from crypto-native traders.

Data from DEX aggregators like Uniswap and PancakeSwap shows that meme coins such as Cash Cat, Wen Lambo, Tendies, and Hoodrat account for a significant share of volume. Cash Cat, featuring a cat-themed branding, has reached a market capitalization of $150 million, with roughly 25,000 wallets holding the token, according to Blockscout.

By contrast, Robinhood Chain's stock tokens — representing shares in companies like Apple and Nvidia — amount to only $13 million in value, accessible in over 120 countries excluding the United States, with about 65,000 users. Bernstein noted that meme coin activity has provided robust liquidity and traction, positioning Robinhood Chain among the top five on-chain trading destinations.

DeFi and Lending Integration Underway

Bernstein's report also highlights Robinhood's push beyond stock token trading. The brokerage has formed partnerships to integrate decentralized lending via Morpho and plans to add perpetual futures trading through DEX Lighter. This expansion signals a strategic shift toward building a full-fledged on-chain financial platform.

Tom Lee, Chairman of BitMine and an investor in Dastan (parent of Decrypt), commented that Robinhood Chain's rapid adoption reinforces Ethereum's role as "money," given that transaction fees are paid in ETH.

Robinhood Stock Recovers, CEO Champions Tokenization

Robinhood's own shares traded at around $111 on Monday, up 19% over the past four weeks, erasing almost all earlier losses amid crypto market volatility. CEO Vlad Tenev has previously described tokenization as "the biggest innovation in capital markets in over a decade," arguing that linking digital tokens to real-world assets can shift the perception that crypto is purely speculative or meme-based.

Strategy Pauses Bitcoin Buys, Boosts Cash Reserves

Separately, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) paused its regular Bitcoin purchases for a third consecutive week, raising $467 million through a new stock issuance to grow its USD Reserve balance to $3 billion. The company's shares fell 4% to $90.80 on the announcement.
