According to a Decrypt interview relayed by ChainCatcher, Robinhood's head of crypto, Johann Kerbrat, says Robinhood Chain has delivered a strong first month. Total value locked on the network has climbed to nearly $800 million, and it has handled more than 200 million transactions since launching around a month ago. Kerbrat explained that the chain is positioned to balance regulated financial products such as tokenized stocks and derivatives with meme coins, a direction he linked to CEO Vlad Tenev's 'two wolves' post. He also said the team chose to build on an Ethereum Layer-2 to lean on existing security and decentralization while focusing development resources on the product itself. The ultimate goal, in Kerbrat's words, is to reach people who have never used cryptocurrency — not to compete for existing users with other chains. "If we can see tens of millions of customers try to use this chain, that's a huge success for us," he said. The figures were shared during the interview with Decrypt.

Robinhood Chain has completed its first month with roughly $800 million in total value locked and more than 200 million transactions processed, according to Robinhood's crypto business lead Johann Kerbrat.

In an interview with Decrypt, Kerbrat said the network's early performance has been strong. He described the chain as an attempt to balance regulated financial products — tokenized stocks and derivatives — with meme coins, a vision he connected to CEO Vlad Tenev's 'two wolves' post.

Kerbrat also addressed the decision to build on an Ethereum Layer-2. The choice allows the team to rely on the security and decentralization of the underlying network while keeping engineering resources focused on product development.

Robinhood's bigger ambition, he said, is not to fight other chains for existing crypto users but to bring in people who have never used cryptocurrency. "If we can see tens of millions of customers try to use this chain, that's a huge success for us," Kerbrat said.
