Robinhood Chain is still getting most of its heat from meme coins, while tokenized stock trading has yet to become the network’s main draw, according to a Foresight article.
The article cited a set of figures shared by Odaily News. In a 24-hour period around Aug. 30, revenue on Robinhood Chain came to about $2.66 million. About 90% of that total came from three applications: GMGN, the Pons launch platform, and Uniswap. Within those three apps, the bulk of revenue, about 80%, came from meme coins.
Tokenized stocks are not yet the chain’s main traffic source
Based on those figures, the article argues that Robinhood Chain’s attempt to build up tokenized stock trading has not yet moved into the mainstream of on-chain activity. Traffic and attention across the chain still depend mainly on meme-coin trading.
That pattern, the author wrote, matches the current approach previously described for the Pons launch platform: attract users first, build trading volume first, and only then open tokenized stock trading more fully across the ecosystem.
The article described that picture as mixed. On one side, Ethereum’s broader ecosystem appears to have produced another fast-growing sub-ecosystem. On the other, heat driven only by meme coins is hard to sustain. It can surge quickly and fade just as fast.
From that point, the piece says the next source of momentum would likely need to come either from new applications and new use cases, or from the tokenized stock trading now beginning to appear on Robinhood Chain.
Long.xyz is pushing meme-coin and stock-token pairs
The article names Long.xyz as one of the more popular launch platforms on Robinhood Chain and says it has been actively promoting pairings between meme coins and tokenized equities. Some of those pairs are already seeing active trading.
It breaks these “meme coin / stock token” pairs into two broad categories:
- One pairs highly emotional meme coins with well-known stocks. The example given is AI/NVDA, where AI is a meme coin and NVDA is a tokenized version of Nvidia stock.
- The other pairs meme coins with penny-stock tokens. In the article’s wording, these are lower-market-cap U.S. stocks that typically attract limited attention in traditional markets.
The first category, the article says, has been used by some traders as a tool to push leading meme coins. In AI/NVDA, for example, Nvidia’s name recognition can be used to amplify sentiment and price action around the AI token.
The second category looks more like a direct attempt to trade small-cap U.S. stocks as if they were meme coins.
In both cases, the article says, participants are not focusing much on the fundamentals of either the meme token or the stock token. The trade is centered on sentiment. On the trading side, the speculative tone is obvious.
Stock tokens could become part of crypto’s underlying asset base
The article then shifts to a more structural point. Looking past speculation, it argues that the setup could carry more serious implications for the composition of crypto assets.
Because stock tokens are included in trading pairs, each AMM trade can send part of the fee flow into project treasuries in the form of stock-token holdings. Under that structure, U.S. equities are being brought into the crypto ecosystem and retained there as part of the broader asset base.
The article describes that evolution in stages. At first, crypto’s underlying assets were purely crypto-native assets such as Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens. Later, U.S. dollars entered the ecosystem through stablecoins. Now, U.S. equities are starting to enter in the form of tokenized stocks. The scale is still limited, the author wrote, but the trend is now visible enough to watch.
The piece adds that tokenized stocks have existed in crypto before, but prior attempts were so small that they could largely be ignored. If Robinhood Chain’s ecosystem can bring U.S. equities into crypto at scale in tokenized form during this cycle, the author argues that the effect could be comparable to the impact USDT had when it entered the crypto ecosystem.
Future pairs tied to crypto-linked companies could magnify swings
The article also looks at how this model could change market volatility.
At the moment, it says, the stock tokens entering crypto are still limited and are mostly tied to companies outside the crypto ecosystem. In the future, if shares of companies closely linked to crypto, such as MicroStrategy or BMNR, are introduced as tokens and directly paired with corresponding treasury-linked assets, the effect could be different.
The examples given are tokenized MicroStrategy stock paired with BTC and tokenized BMNR stock paired with ETH. If liquidity in such markets grows large enough, the article says, periods of sharp market stress could produce stronger price moves than in earlier cycles: assets could rise together with larger gains in up markets and fall together with deeper losses in down markets.
The author says that would amount to a kind of market behavior crypto has not gone through before.
