Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev sold 375,000 shares of HOOD on July 6, according to a recent SEC filing. The transaction was executed under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted on Sept. 5, 2025. Weighted average sale prices ranged from $112.2242 to $118.1385, placing the total value near $43.6 million. Tenev still held over 48.2 million Class B shares after the sale.
Chief Legal Officer Gallagher Also Sells
Robinhood Chief Legal Officer Daniel Gallagher sold 10,000 Class A shares across seven transactions on the same day. Reported weighted average prices ranged from $112.056 to $118.4525. The sale was made under a separate 10b5-1 plan adopted on Aug. 8, 2025. Such plans let insiders schedule sales in advance and do not necessarily signal a change in their view of the company.
Robinhood Ventures Fund I Trims RVI Stake
Robinhood Markets also disclosed sales by Robinhood Ventures Fund I, which trades under ticker RVI. The fund sold 21,294 common shares of beneficial interest on July 6 and July 7, with prices from $30.815 to $34.31. RVI is a closed-end fund giving retail investors access to private companies like Canva, SpaceX, Stripe and ElevenLabs.
Stock Rally Driven by Crypto and Tokenization Push
The insider sales came after a sharp run-up in HOOD shares. The stock recently traded near $113.53, giving Robinhood a market cap above $100 billion. Recent product launches include Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum layer-2 network built with Arbitrum; Stock Tokens that track equity performance without granting ownership rights; decentralized lending; perpetual futures; and AI-powered trading accounts. Robinhood has joined Coinbase, Stripe, Circle and Tether in building company-controlled blockchain rails.
Analyst coverage also linked Robinhood's rally to its prediction market expansion, with Bernstein projecting revenue growth from World Cup trading volumes in 2026. While the insider sales may draw attention given the stock's high, the largest transactions were tied to pre-arranged 10b5-1 plans. Investors will watch whether Robinhood's crypto, tokenized stock and private-market products can sustain momentum.
