Robinhood has introduced Agentic Trading and Agentic Credit Card, allowing users to connect third-party AI agents to automate trades and purchases. The beta supports stocks only for now, with options, crypto and futures planned later.

Robinhood has introduced Agentic Trading and the Agentic Credit Card, giving customers a way to connect third-party AI agents to their accounts and let those systems carry out trades or purchases on their behalf. The company said the tools can watch markets, rebalance portfolios and execute instructions without requiring the user to constantly monitor prices.

The release brings a type of AI-driven financial automation that has mostly been associated with hedge funds and institutional trading desks into a mainstream retail brokerage app. A user seeking exposure to AI-related stocks, for example, could ask an agent to build and maintain a portfolio focused on that segment. Another could set a predefined strategy that tells an agent to buy stocks after they become oversold.

AI agents can trade and make purchases through virtual cards

Robinhood is also extending the model beyond investing. Through AI-connected virtual credit cards, customers can instruct agents to track product prices and complete purchases once selected conditions are met. The company is presenting the new tools as a way to cut down the time users spend researching investments or manually checking for deals.

That shifts AI from an assistant role into an execution role. Instead of only surfacing ideas or organizing information, the system can now act as an operator with permission to place orders and complete transactions inside defined limits.

Stocks only in beta, with crypto support planned later

For now, Agentic Trading supports stock trading only while it remains in beta. Robinhood said support for options, crypto and futures is planned at a later stage. For digital asset users, that means the framework has been announced, but crypto trading through the product is not yet live.

Robinhood shares rose 1.5% to $75.20 during U.S. morning trading on Wednesday after the announcement.

Robinhood adds funding limits and manual approval controls

The company said it built several guardrails into the rollout. AI agents operate through separate trading accounts and can access only the funds a customer allocates to them. Users receive notifications whenever trades are executed, and they can disable the agents immediately.

For purchasing activity, Robinhood said it has also added spending controls and optional manual approvals. The setup is meant to let customers automate execution while still keeping the ability to intervene when needed.
