Robinhood Markets (Nasdaq: HOOD) announced at the HOOD Summit 2025 in Las Vegas on September 10 a series of new features designed to attract active traders, with the centerpiece being the launch of Robinhood Social. The company stated: “We unveiled Robinhood Social, a new trading community within the Robinhood app featuring live, verified trades and authentic profiles, where you can discuss strategies, follow experts, and more.” The platform directly addresses the reliability issues traders face when relying on external social media outlets by integrating real-time verification of all trade entries and exits. Users can see trades unfold live, monitor others’ one-year and daily profit and loss metrics, profit rates, and past trades, all within the app.
First Social Platform for Multi-Asset Trading
Crucially, Robinhood Social positions itself as the first social platform where users can trade across stocks, options, futures, crypto, and prediction markets without switching applications. Every profile is tied to a verified identity under KYC rules to ensure authenticity. The service also allows members to track insider trades, hedge fund filings, and political disclosures by tapping into publicly available data. CEO Vlad Tenev emphasized: “Robinhood is no longer just where you trade – it’s your financial super app.” Robinhood Social will launch by invitation only to a select number of US customers early next year, with broader availability and no additional cost expected.
Legend Platform Expansion: Futures and Crypto Ladders
Alongside the social launch, Robinhood expanded its Legend platform to include futures trading and crypto support through new trading ladders. Already available on mobile for futures, the ladders will soon cover stocks, ETFs, and crypto in the United States (crypto remains unavailable in the UK). Device linking allows users to view charts on desktop while trading on mobile, creating a seamless multi-device experience. These updates reflect Robinhood’s push to unify trading tools for stocks, options, crypto, and futures on a single platform.
AI Assistant: Robinhood Cortex
Robinhood also introduced Robinhood Cortex, an AI assistant that builds custom chart indicators without coding and performs real-time scans across stocks, ETFs, futures, and crypto. Cortex empowers retail investors with institutional-grade analysis capabilities, further solidifying Robinhood’s focus on AI-driven trading tools. The combination of social interaction, cross-asset access, and AI technology marks a significant leap for the company, potentially challenging traditional trading communities and social media platforms. However, challenges around privacy, compliance, and user behavior regulation remain as the platform scales.
Overall, the HOOD Summit announcements signal Robinhood’s strategic shift from a simple brokerage to a comprehensive financial ecosystem, leveraging verified social trust, multi-asset execution, and artificial intelligence to redefine the retail trading experience.
