Robinhood’s second-quarter results showed prediction market activity outpacing two of its better-known trading businesses. According to The Block, event contracts generated $156 million in revenue during the quarter, ahead of $100 million from cryptocurrency trading and $129 million from stock trading. That mix helped lift total transaction-based revenue 44% year over year to $776 million. The company also reported total net revenue of $1.31 billion for the quarter, up 32% from a year earlier, while net income rose 48% to $573 million. Robinhood said notional crypto trading volume reached $40 billion, including $22 billion tied to Bitstamp. The earnings release also highlighted the company’s recent push into prediction markets and on-chain products. Robinhood entered the prediction market business in October 2024, launched its prediction markets hub in March, and rolled out CFTC-licensed exchange Rothera in June. The company said notional crypto trading volume totaled $40 billion, including $22 billion from Bitstamp.

Since launch, Robinhood Chain has reached about $325 million in TVL. DEX volume has exceeded $12 billion, and transaction count has passed 150 million.

Robinhood shares fell about 3% in after-hours trading to $86.89 after the earnings release.
