Robinhood has begun rolling out cryptocurrency trading to eligible users in the UK, adding more than 50 digital assets through Bitstamp, the exchange it acquired last year for $200 million. The new offering places crypto alongside stocks, options, futures, and UK Individual Savings Accounts on Robinhood’s platform as the company pushes a broader one-stop investing model. The company said UK users will initially pay no trading commission, account management fee, or custody fee for crypto transactions. Currency conversion still carries a 0.1% fee, which rises to 0.3% during certain weekend periods. The first batch of supported assets includes Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, and Hyperliquid’s HYPE token. Robinhood said the service is provided by Bitstamp UK Ltd, which is registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority as a cryptoasset business. It also warned that crypto held through Bitstamp UK is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service. Alongside the launch, Robinhood introduced its AI-powered market analysis tool, Cortex Digests for Crypto, in the UK. The company also shared fresh metrics for Robinhood Chain and reiterated recent quarterly results showing crypto trading revenue fell 38% year over year to $100 million while prediction markets revenue reached $156 million.

Robinhood is expanding deeper into the UK crypto market, saying it will start rolling out trading access this week to eligible users in the country for more than 50 cryptocurrencies. The service is being provided through Bitstamp, the long-standing exchange Robinhood acquired last year for $200 million.

The company said the new product brings crypto into Robinhood’s existing financial lineup, where it sits alongside stocks, options, futures, and UK Individual Savings Accounts, or ISAs. Robinhood framed the launch as part of its effort to offer users a one-stop investing experience.

UK launch starts with zero trading commission

For UK users, Robinhood said crypto trading will initially come with no trading commission, no account management fee, and no custody fee. Users will still need to pay a 0.1% foreign exchange fee, however. That charge rises to 0.3% during certain weekend conversion periods.

The first wave of supported assets includes Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), XRP, and Hyperliquid (HYPE), among other widely traded tokens.

Robinhood said crypto trading in the UK is offered by Bitstamp UK Ltd, which is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority, or FCA, as a cryptoasset business.

Crypto holdings are not protected by FSCS or FOS

The company also said crypto held through Bitstamp UK does not qualify for protection under the UK’s Financial Services Compensation Scheme, or FSCS. It is also not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service, known as FOS.

Jordan Sinclair, president of Robinhood UK and general manager of Bitstamp UK, said more investors in the UK are treating digital assets as an important part of portfolio diversification. He said the company wants to use the new service to keep building a one-stop investment platform that spans multiple asset classes.

AI market analysis tool launches alongside trading

At the same time, Robinhood has introduced an AI-powered crypto market analysis product in the UK called Cortex Digests for Crypto. The tool uses generative AI, or GenAI, to analyze real-time news, market data, technical indicators, and Robinhood’s own insights. According to the company, it is designed to help users understand possible drivers behind price moves in specific crypto assets and give them more context when assessing market changes.

Robinhood also highlights chain metrics and quarterly results

Robinhood said it has continued to expand its digital asset ecosystem, including Robinhood Chain. Since going live on July 1, Robinhood Chain has generated more than $18 billion in cumulative decentralized exchange, or DEX, trading volume, while total value locked, or TVL, has surpassed $840 million, according to the company.

The company previously reported that second-quarter crypto trading revenue fell 38% year over year to $100 million. In contrast, prediction markets revenue reached $156 million, the first time it moved above the crypto trading business.

Overall, Robinhood said second-quarter net revenue rose 32% year over year to $1.31 billion, while net income came in at $573 million, up 48% from the same period in 2025.

Chief Financial Officer Shiv Verma said at the time that Robinhood posted record revenue, while trading volumes in stocks, options, and event contracts also reached new highs as the company continued to gain market share.
