Ronin, the blockchain tailored for Web3 gaming, has partnered with Virtuals Protocol to integrate an artificial intelligence (AI) agent into its ecosystem. The flagship product, named Jaihoz, is modeled after Jeffrey Zirlin, co-founder of Sky Mavis — the studio behind Axie Infinity. Jaihoz is designed to reflect Zirlin's online persona while operating with enhanced autonomy and personality. The agent is active on social media and intends to engage with users on Ronin's platform, though the impact of these interactions remains uncertain.
Tokenomics and Airdrop Mechanics
Virtuals Protocol merges AI with decentralized frameworks, simplifying the creation and deployment of AI agents that can act as social media figures, on-chain traders, or in-game non-playable characters (NPCs). Central to this collaboration is the $JAIHOZ token, with a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens, distributed across the Ronin and Base blockchains. To spur interest, over 100,000 wallets — including those from Ronin and Virtuals communities — received an airdrop. Eligibility was based on snapshot dates, encompassing holders of select NFTs such as Cyberkongz Genkai and Moki Genesis, along with Ronin stakers and guild participants.
Strategic Implications and Future Outlook
This partnership is part of Ronin's broader effort to diversify its use cases beyond gaming by early 2025. While the integration of AI agents represents a novel direction, the actual outcomes remain speculative. The crypto AI agent sector has seen explosive growth in recent weeks, but whether Jaihoz can deliver on lofty expectations is yet to be determined. Industry observers note that combining AI with blockchain could unlock new interaction paradigms, but technical maturity and user adoption remain critical hurdles.
