RootData Research said in its 2026 Crypto TradFi Landscape Report that traditional financial assets are moving into the crypto market at a faster pace, turning TradFi into a new battleground for major trading platforms. As of Aug. 24, Gate listed 1,022 TradFi assets, the highest among the platforms covered in the report and 4.2 times the number held by the second-ranked platform. Its stock derivatives lineup also ranked first with 366 underlying assets. In market share, Gate recorded $135.5 billion in cumulative TradFi trading volume from January through August, while its August TradFi volume share rose to 10.7%, placing it third globally. In the stock derivatives segment, Gate posted a composite score of 92.2, tying with OKX for second place. From Aug. 1 to Aug. 24, its average daily open interest reached $772 million, also ranking third. The report added that Gate’s average daily stock contract trading size has maintained strong month-over-month growth since May, and said its liquidity improved as its ±2% weighted depth exceeded Binance for 11 straight trading days starting Aug. 14.

Gate ranked first by TradFi asset count

According to the report, Gate had 1,022 TradFi assets as of Aug. 24, the highest total among the platforms covered and 4.2 times the number held by the platform in second place. Within that lineup, Gate also ranked first in stock derivatives underlyings with 366.

Trading volume share rose to 10.7% in August

On market share, Gate posted cumulative TradFi trading volume of $135.5 billion from January to August. Its TradFi trading volume share in August rose to 10.7%, ranking third globally.

Joint second in stock derivatives composite score

In stock derivatives, Gate received a composite score of 92.2, tying with OKX for second place. From Aug. 1 to Aug. 24, Gate’s average daily open interest reached $772 million, ranking third.

Stock contract trading size showed strong growth from May through August

The report said Gate’s average daily stock contract trading size has maintained a high growth rate since May. Month-over-month growth for May, June, July and August was 124.1%, 187.3%, 323.7% and 261.1%, respectively. RootData said this showed strong growth momentum among the five platforms included in the comparison.

Liquidity metrics topped Binance for 11 straight trading days

The report also said Gate’s liquidity continued to improve. Starting on Aug. 14, its ±2% weighted depth exceeded Binance for 11 consecutive trading days. During that period, its average daily weighted depth reached $14.678 million.

RootData sees a shift toward multi-polar competition

RootData said the crypto TradFi market is moving from a single-center structure toward multi-polar competition, with platform rivalry extending beyond trading volume into asset coverage and liquidity. The report added that Gate has continued to expand asset coverage and increase market share as it builds a one-stop multi-asset trading system.
