Crypto KOL Rune said on Sept. 9 that LAPTOP’s claims of having 「no insiders」 and a 「fair launch」 do not hold up under scrutiny. In a post on X, Rune said the project had announced the launch two days in advance and said there were no insider allocations, yet eligible Hunter Biden Substack subscribers were able to claim 4,276 LAPTOP each. At the token’s peak price, Rune said each allocation was briefly worth about $1 million. He also said several newly created wallets with no prior token trading history claimed the airdrop and sold immediately. According to Rune, millions of LAPTOP have already been claimed and sold, while airdrop wallets still hold tokens worth about $7.9 billion. Rune added that LAPTOP was down 95% from 15 minutes earlier and said the selling pressure appeared to be coming from airdrop recipients. He mocked the project’s framing by saying its so-called insiders were simply labeled as subscribers, who did not need to buy in early and could receive tokens for free before selling them to secondary-market buyers.

BlockBeats reported on Sept. 9 that crypto KOL Rune (@RuneCrypto_) questioned LAPTOP’s claims that it had 「no insiders」 and was launched through a 「fair launch」.

Rune said the project announced the launch two days in advance and stated that there was no insider allocation, but eligible Hunter Biden Substack subscribers could each claim 4,276 LAPTOP. Based on the token’s peak price, he said each airdrop allocation was at one point worth about $1 million.

He said several newly created wallets that had never traded tokens before sold immediately after claiming the airdrop. Rune added that millions of LAPTOP had already been claimed and sold, while airdrop wallets were still holding tokens worth about $7.9 billion.

Rune also said LAPTOP had fallen 95% from 15 minutes earlier, and he attributed the pressure to airdrop recipients.

He mocked the project’s wording, saying the so-called 「insiders」 were simply described as 「subscribers,」 who did not need to buy in early and could receive tokens for free before selling them to buyers in the secondary market.
