Sai has launched Sai Perps, a perpetuals trading platform built to combine the speed and ease of a centralized exchange with the transparency and self-custody of onchain settlement. The platform includes gasless transactions, aiming to reduce trading friction while keeping settlement fully onchain.
Sai positions the product around speed, custody, and transparency
According to the project, Sai Perps is designed for active traders who want a familiar trading interface without giving up onchain guarantees. Sai contributor Matthias Darblade said onchain markets should not force traders to choose between speed and self-custody, adding that the platform is intended to deliver a clean, CEX-like experience while keeping the transparency and settlement assurances available through onchain infrastructure.
Sai said the platform is built to make onchain perpetuals more accessible by cutting common sources of friction. It highlighted several points of differentiation from existing perpDEXs: a streamlined interface with onchain settlement, infrastructure focused on liquidity, risk systems and oracle design, and a product setup meant to work for both newer and experienced traders without removing advanced trading functionality.
One-month trading competition carries a $25,000 prize pool
Alongside the launch, Sai introduced Let’s Go Saicho, an onchain trading competition running from February 18 to March 19, 2026, with total prizes of $25,000. The campaign is split into two phases and rewards both trading performance and early participation.
Phase 1 runs from Feb. 18 to Mar. 4 as a PNL competition with a $20,000 prize pool and 50 winners. Phase 2 runs from Mar. 5 to Mar. 19 as a first-come, first-served “Be Early” round with $5,000 in prizes, also for 50 winners. Sai said all listed markets on the platform are eligible in both phases. Traders can go long or short on any listed pair using supported collateral, including examples such as USDC and stNIBI, where available on Sai.
Roadmap includes stocks, commodities, FX, and capital-efficiency tools
Sai also outlined plans beyond crypto perpetuals. The roadmap includes expansion into stocks, commodities, and foreign exchange markets, as well as user-focused features such as Sai Savings, which is described as yield on deposits, cross-chain deposits, and smart accounts intended to support gasless trading.
The team said its current focus remains on completing core trading infrastructure and refining the user experience, while continuing to build liquidity and risk systems for smoother execution. Sai describes its broader goal as making advanced trading easier to access without giving up transparency or self-custody.
