SanDisk has emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI infrastructure boom, with its stock soaring 3,314% over the past year from $32.11 to more than $1,096. The rally reflects rising investor interest in companies tied to memory and storage demand as artificial intelligence workloads require far greater data capacity and faster access across enterprise systems.
A pure-play NAND story after the spin-off
The company’s strategic profile changed materially after its February 2025 separation from Western Digital, which turned SanDisk into a pure-play NAND flash business. That shift gave the market a more direct way to price its exposure to expanding AI infrastructure, especially as hyperscalers and data center operators increase spending on storage-heavy deployments.
Financial results point to strong AI-related demand
Recent results highlighted the scale of that momentum. SanDisk reported $5.95 billion in revenue for fiscal Q3 2026, representing a 97% quarter-over-quarter increase. Even more striking, its data center revenue climbed 645% year over year, underscoring how AI workloads are translating into real demand for enterprise NAND solutions.
Technology and partnerships support the narrative
According to the report, NAND demand is being reinforced by AI’s need for substantial storage, with pricing also expected to move higher. SanDisk is positioning itself to address AI memory bottlenecks through strategic partnerships and its BiCS8 3D NAND architecture, both of which strengthen its role in next-generation storage infrastructure.
Valuation concerns remain
Still, the company’s rapid stock appreciation has also raised questions about sustainability. Analysts cited in the report warned that SanDisk may be overextended, noting that its forward price-to-earnings ratio now sits well above historical averages. While the company is clearly benefiting from AI-led storage demand, elevated expectations could leave the stock vulnerable to sharper swings if growth or pricing momentum cools.
