Santiment says XRP social sentiment has fallen into one of its weakest zones in nearly two years. After a roughly 63% decline over nine months, the token’s bullish-to-bearish comment ratio is about 1.02 to 1, a level that has previously appeared near recovery phases.

XRP has moved into one of its most pessimistic social sentiment zones in nearly two years, according to fresh data from Santiment. The analytics firm said fear, uncertainty, and doubt around the token have climbed sharply as price weakness continued, with XRP down nearly 63% over the last nine months. That slide has weighed on retail confidence and shifted the tone of crypto discussions in a clearly negative direction.

Social data shows bearish talk taking over

Santiment said XRP is now sitting at roughly 1.02 bullish comments for every bearish comment, a ratio that points to a heavily fear-driven discussion environment. In practical terms, positive and negative views are nearly balanced, but the broader tone has weakened enough to place XRP in a historically notable sentiment band. Santiment added that similar periods have often come with softer participation and lower trading activity.

The firm’s main point is not simply that sentiment is poor. It is that markets often move against the crowd once expectations become too one-sided. Under that framework, an extreme rise in bearish commentary can matter because it may show that pessimism is already widely priced into positioning and discussion.

Past examples cited by Santiment showed recoveries after weak sentiment

Santiment pointed to February 2025 as one comparable stretch, when bearish commentary around XRP overtook more constructive views. After that phase, the asset recovered as market conditions stabilized. A similar pattern appeared again in October 2025, when sentiment deteriorated before XRP posted a shorter rebound.

The analysis also separates sentiment into two broad behavioral zones. Elevated sentiment can reflect excessive optimism and, at times, overbought conditions. Lower readings show widespread caution, slower activity, and periods that may overlap with accumulation. Santiment’s reading is that XRP has now dropped into a level that has historically lined up with possible turning points, though any sustained recovery would still depend on how sentiment develops over the next several sessions.
