SeeDAO has announced its official restart after being paused for nearly a year. Since last year’s 12th Node Consensus Conference, the community had effectively put its activities on hold. During that period, members went through various rounds of exploration, discussion and experimentation, and even debated whether SeeDAO should be permanently shut down. In the end, the community did not take that final step and instead chose to return.
Community member Lizi described the paused period as something similar to a collective vacation. In that framing, after a group of people has worked for a long time, taking a proper break can be necessary. The time in which SeeDAO was paused was therefore presented as a period of gap and rest for its members, with the idea that rest can allow people to set out again in a lighter and more relaxed way.
The June 17 Vote Approved the Restart
The restart was brought forward through a voting proposal initiated by Baiyu. On June 17, the proposal was approved by the nodes from the 12th Node Consensus Conference, described in the announcement as the existing nodes. With that vote, SeeDAO formally restarted and responded to its nearly year-long suspension with the message that it had returned.
The decision marks a shift from a period of uncertainty and internal deliberation to a renewed community process. The announcement does not present the restart as a continuation of the previous project model in the same form, but rather as a return after reflection, rest and discussion among community participants.
All Investor Funds Have Been Returned
SeeDAO also stated that, as of now, it has fully returned the investment funds of all previous investors. According to the community’s own wording, this marks a complete farewell to its history as a Web3 project party. Without investor funds remaining on its balance of responsibility, SeeDAO said it no longer carries the pressure of having to answer to investors, nor does it need to continue financialized actions generated by that pressure.
The community expressed gratitude to the investors who had supported SeeDAO in the past. It also noted that some investors, after learning that SeeDAO intended to return investment funds, still said they were willing to continue providing support. However, because SeeDAO had not yet fully clarified its next commercial prospects, that support was politely declined. The announcement emphasized that investors’ money is still money, and that accepting it without a clear new commercial direction would be irresponsible.
SeeDAO’s point-clearing process is still taking place at the same time. Members who want to redeem their SeeDAO points but have not yet done so can complete the redemption through https://claim.seedao.xyz/ .
