Shiba Inu (SHIB) recorded a 91.28% drop in burn rate over the past 24 hours, with only 119,829 SHIB removed from circulation. A day earlier, the community had burned more than 1 million tokens. The sharp slowdown came as the broader crypto market stayed under pressure, leaving SHIB caught in the same weak tone.

The burn rate is one of the main indicators traders watch for SHIB because it tracks how many tokens are permanently taken out of supply. Lower supply can support scarcity, but the latest numbers point to fading activity instead. In the current market, reduced burns suggest weaker demand and less momentum behind community-led efforts.

Price spike did not hold

SHIB’s price action moved in a similar pattern. On Friday, the token briefly surged more than 13% to $0.00000636. The move did not last. Price quickly reversed and fell 5.43% soon after, wiping out much of the rebound.

That intraday swing matched the uncertain tone across the wider market. According to the source material, Bitcoin and other major crypto assets were also struggling to establish firm support. SHIB was not trading with strong independent momentum, and its short-term direction remained unclear.

Earlier large burns failed to shift the trend

The report noted that SHIB had seen a few notable burns earlier in the week, including transfers of 7.7 million SHIB and 2.02 million SHIB. Even so, those larger transactions did not change the broader slowdown. The latest 24-hour data shows burn activity losing pace again.

For now, the setup is straightforward: burn activity has weakened, price has failed to sustain a rebound, and near-term conditions remain uncertain. SHIB is still moving in line with a market that has yet to find clear direction.
