Shiba Inu community veteran Mazrael has told SHIB holders to stop treating older ecosystem domains as trusted entry points. According to the advisory, Shib.io is now the project’s official gateway for services across the ecosystem, including ShibaSwap and Shibarium.
The message is centered on security. Rather than sending users across multiple web addresses, the project is steering traffic toward one verified portal to cut down confusion and reduce the chance of phishing. Before connecting a wallet, signing a transaction, or using any Shiba Inu service, users are being asked to confirm that the link is official.
Retired domains are no longer part of the official setup
Mazrael said legacy domains should no longer be treated as reliable sources for ecosystem information. The warning specifically includes the former ShibTheMetaverse domain, which is no longer owned or managed by the Shiba Inu team.
That creates a clear risk. If another party acquires the address later, the domain could host unrelated material while still appearing familiar to users who remember it from earlier stages of the project. Mazrael’s point was direct: future content on that site should not be assumed to have any connection to the SHIB ecosystem.
Future access to Shib The Metaverse is expected through Shib.io
According to Mazrael, Shib The Metaverse is expected to return through Shib.io instead of operating from a separate standalone website. Folding the product into the main portal would place another major Shiba Inu service under one official access point.
The clarification also separates active infrastructure from assets that have already been retired. As the ecosystem continues to include products such as Shibarium and ShibaSwap, a single confirmed gateway gives users a simpler way to identify what is current and what is not.
Users are urged to verify links before wallet actions
Mazrael also warned users not to sign wallet transactions or enter sensitive information on websites that have not been confirmed by the project. Expired domains and lookalike sites remain common tools for crypto scams, especially when users assume an old address is still safe.
This update is not about a new product release. It is about access control and transaction safety. For SHIB holders, the latest instruction is straightforward: treat Shib.io as the official portal and avoid relying on legacy domains that no longer belong to the project.
