With less than a year to go before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the sports collectibles market is gaining significant momentum alongside prediction markets. In the card universe, the World Cup is not just a tournament—it is a catalyst that unleashes concentrated trading demand for rookie cards, limited editions and other sports collectibles. Historically a hundred-billion-dollar ecosystem, the card market has mostly operated within off-chain circles and Web2 platforms, suffering from limited reach, fragmented pricing and thin liquidity. Now, MarketCards aims to bring these real-world collectibles onto the blockchain by tokenizing them, opening the door to transparent pricing and circulation.

MarketCards: An On-Chain Platform for Tokenized Physical Cards
MarketCards is a blockchain-based asset platform focused on tokenizing physical collectibles, especially sports cards and rare trading cards. By combining on-chain ownership verification, public offerings and secondary trading, the platform brings once niche card assets into a transparent and liquid digital market. On June 4, MarketCards announced the very first MintBox offering, a public sale of tokenized interests representing 68 personally sourced, one-of-one rare player cards. This mechanism, called Tokenized Interest, is designed to let rare cards be not only displayed and collected, but also subscribed, traded and priced on-chain. As of press time, the MintBox campaign has surpassed 70% of its goal, with total ticket sales exceeding $210,000.

How to Participate in the MintBox and the Lottery Rules
To join, users visit the MarketCards official website, connect a Web3 wallet, deposit USDC on the Base chain, and then click “VIEW MINTBOX DETAIL” to purchase tickets. Each ticket costs 10 USDC, and multiple tickets can be bought in a single transaction. Upon purchase, every ticket receives a randomly generated 4-digit number (such as 2727) along with a timestamp. After the sale closes, the platform will use the Binance BTC/USDC spot price at 00:00 UTC on June 8, take the tens digit, ones digit, first decimal digit and second decimal digit to form a 4-digit “Draw Factor.” For example, if BTC is priced at 77,795.60, the Draw Factor becomes 9560. Users’ tickets are then compared digit by digit with the Draw Factor; only exact matches at the same position count as “hits.” The more matching digits, the higher the prize tier (4/4 > 3/4 > 2/4 > 1/4 > 0/4). Within the same tier, tickets are ranked by purchase time—the earlier the better.

A total of 30,000 boxes are available. The top 30,000 ranked tickets receive corresponding box numbers in order, so rank 1 gets Box #1, rank 2 gets Box #2, and so forth. Tickets ranked beyond 30,000 are deemed non-rewarded; their purchase amounts can be manually reclaimed after results are announced.

Lucky Digit Referral Mechanic
The MintBox also features a Lucky Digit system. For every friend who successfully participates and purchases at least 100 USDC worth of tickets in this round, the referrer receives one Lucky Digit, capped at three per ticket. A digit that becomes a Lucky Digit no longer needs to match the Draw Factor—any number from 0 to 9 is counted as a hit. Lucky Digits are assigned to referrers only and are filled in the order tickets are generated, with a fixed unlocking sequence: first digit, second digit, third digit, while the fourth digit always remains a mandatory exact match. This design rewards early referrals with greater flexibility in matching the Draw Factor.
