Siebert Financial Corp., a Nasdaq-listed financial services company, has agreed to serve as the U.S. partner for Kakao Pay Securities in a plan to bring tokenized trading access to Korean stocks for American investors. The two companies said they intend to use the K-Stock Global Gateway framework to explore how Korean equities could be offered in tokenized form, giving U.S. investors exposure outside the regular trading hours of the Korea Exchange. Kakao Pay Securities said it holds about 9 million stock accounts in South Korea. The companies also plan to study whether tokenized securities could support T+0 settlement. Their initial target is to launch the tokenized trading service in the first half of 2027. Any rollout, they said, would be subject to regulatory requirements in both the United States and South Korea, as well as investor protection standards.
