SIX, the Swiss financial market infrastructure operator, has launched equities data onchain using Chainlink’s DataLink service. The integration, announced this week, makes stock exchange data from Switzerland and Spain accessible across multiple blockchain networks, allowing institutions and developers to feed regulated market data directly into smart contracts at scale.
Data Covering Over €2 Trillion in Market Value
The data SIX now pushes onchain represents equities listed on Swiss and Spanish exchanges, tied to a combined market value of more than €2 trillion. Through Chainlink’s oracle networks, this information flows to 75 blockchain networks. Matthew Nurse, Head of Market Data at SIX, stated the integration delivers real-time data via secure infrastructure, adding that Swiss and Spanish equities now operate within blockchain environments.
Reaching 2,600+ Decentralized Applications
Developers can now access the data programmatically across more than 2,600 applications running on over 75 chains. Sergey Nazarov, Chainlink co-founder, noted that institutional demand is driving traditional financial data onchain — firms require a trustworthy data layer before allocating capital to tokenized assets.
DataLink Ensures Compliant Delivery
The rollout relies on Chainlink DataLink, an institutional-grade data delivery system that securely transmits market data across both public and private blockchains. Fernando Vázquez of Chainlink explained that DataLink enables providers to distribute premium data while maintaining control standards, and supports compliance requirements for regulated institutions.
The integration also highlights Chainlink’s expanding role in data delivery. Nazarov added that Chainlink already supports a large share of decentralized finance applications globally. With verified institutional data now onchain, new financial products are emerging: tokenized indices, structured products, and compliant DeFi applications. Prediction markets and other smart contract tools can also tap into regulated data sources, broadening how blockchain systems interact with traditional finance.
