A whale wallet beginning with 0x4c7 has fully closed its short position in SK Hynix (SKHX), according to monitoring data from Hyperinsight cited by BlockBeats on July 15. The address had built the position at an average entry price of about $1,453 and later closed it at an average price of roughly $1,424.47, with the closing transaction totaling about $9.0325 million. Hyperinsight said the latest round of closing trades generated only about $230,000 in profit. Including a small amount of earlier profit-taking, the whale’s net profit was about $560,000. The trade had looked far more profitable a day earlier: at midday on July 14, when SKHX fell to a low of $1,146.40, the unrealized profit on the position briefly reached about $1.991 million. After SK Hynix rebounded sharply, those paper gains narrowed quickly, and the whale ultimately exited near breakeven relative to cost. BlockBeats also referenced an earlier whale-tracking note saying a major address had shorted South Korean semiconductor names during what it called a “fateful week,” with combined short exposure in Samsung and SK Hynix totaling $14.8 million.

At midday on July 14, when SKHX fell to a low of $1,146.40, the position’s unrealized profit briefly reached about $1.991 million. SK Hynix then rebounded sharply, cutting those gains quickly, and the whale eventually exited near its cost basis.

BlockBeats also referred to an earlier whale-tracking alert that described a major address shorting South Korean semiconductor stocks during a so-called “fateful week,” with combined short positions in Samsung and SK Hynix totaling $14.8 million.
